TGS 07: Sony outlines titles that will be compatible with Dual Shock 3

PS3 News | Resistance and MotorStorm to get rumble update.
Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has sent us through a complete list of titles that are compatible with the Dual Shock 3, the newly announced rumble controller for the PlayStation 3.

The list flicked up quickly during Kaz Hirai's Tokyo Game Show keynote speech, but what's most surprising about the list is that it confirms a software update will be released which will enable rumble in previously released games.

The list of titles that will support the rumble feature on the PlayStation 3 through a software update include Blast Factor, Folklore, Formula One Championship Edition, Resistance: Fall of Man, Super Stardust HD, MotorStorm, Go! Sports Ski, Heavenly Sword, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Other titles which will include support for the rumble controller (and won't require a software update) include the already released Darkness as well as Turok, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, Burnout Paradise, Metal Gear Solid 4, Blacksite: Area 51, Unreal Tournament 3, Heroes over Europe, Condemned 2, The incredible Hulk Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Assassin's Creed, Stuntman Ignition, Haze, Gripshift, FIFA, WarDevil, Dynasty Warriors 6, Fatal Inertia, Wheelman, Iron Man, The Club, The Crucible and Destroy All Humans 3 just to name a few.

Interesting about the updates. So The Darkness, a game that's out, already supports the rumble without an update? Wierd.

^ Yeah the exact rumble code just gets reused since the controllers of both platforms both have the same Immersion goodness in them.

Eh to fill TGS full of games that will support a rumble feature, not worth the anticpation of waiting these last couple of months for.

only if they added that FFVII:Rebuild was going to support rumble then maybe something would've happened.

I'm glad they are going to add rumble to games already out. That makes me happy and I'm sure others too.

No rumble support for Warhawk?

Shame on you, Incognito!

Great news besides that, though.

Edit: D'oh. Thanks Crst and Maikii

I still haven't opened my 2nd controller form the 2 games + extra controller bundle. I wonder If EB will refund it for me if I pre-order a Dualshock 3.

They did a pretty good job covering it up, considering the level of support it's got.

Sucks to be me with two SixAxis's though. Still, better to see it added than not, so I'm not bitter.

YES! Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Haze, all to support rumble! icon_biggrin.gif Excellent news indeed, now PS3 owners will finally be able to enjoy the rumble that was present on the PS2 which will add a nice bit of realism to the games outlined. All of those games will be even better now, I just hope Sony offer some sort of compensation for us PS3 owners.

Brett: I'm in the same boat, I have two as well. As happy as I am about the announcement, I am a bit bitter about this though, unlike you, and will continue to be so unless Sony announce some form of compensation for those of us with standard sixaxis.
