Eternal Sonata coming to the PlayStation 3

PS3 News | Worst kept secret, ever.
Whenever a title is announced as being exclusive to a specific console it doesn't take long for speculation to mount that the game will appear multiple platforms. Sometimes the speculation is merely wishful thinking, but sometimes the speculation turns out to be true. Famitsu magazine have revealed that the once Xbox 360 exclusive, Eternal Sonata (known as Trusty Bell in other regions), will be coming to the PlayStation 3.

Eternal Sonata is an RPG set for release on the Xbox 360 later this year. PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait a little longer though, with the game set for release in early 2008. So, that's Eternal Sonata wrapped up for PlayStation 3 owners, now we're sure they're crossing their fingers for Bioshock and Ace Combat 6.

Ah well, is good news generally, us it might give the PS3 a helping hand in Japan. I don't see this as a major blow to the 360 though.

its a good thing I think, I really am looking forward to Eternal Sonata on the 360 and if the PS3 version will sell more copies of this game and make sure that they make more games like this it can only be a good thing for everyone

You sir are a legend, if only everyone enjoyed games for games and not for the platform they're on.

As long as thier is a PAL release I dont care wich platform it's on. Im dying for more good RPGs.

No real surprise. Everyone knew that the PS3 would eventually be the system with all the JRPGs.

I wonder how much MS paid Bamco for the 6-month exclusive?

Also, has anyone heard whether the PAL 360 release will have a Japanese dialogue option like the US release?

I was a bit envious that Xbox was getting this but now I'll be able to get my hands on it!

well while good if true i don't think anyone should get their hopes up, this is a rumour

basically on the namco site, eternal sonata aswell as one other game suddenly had release dates for the ps3 and wii

not long after both of these games had all mention of ps3 or a wii release removed, so its possibly a mistake

palgn should of added it in their article (these events, and the confirmation they were speculation happened quiet a few days before this article was made)

Great news for all. I say.

If cross platform brings us more RPGs from Japan, I say, awesome.

Having both systems, well all three, makes it a little harder to choose.

nice, i'll definitely try to import the US version once it comes out, its been awhile since i've played in jrps and i'm starting to miss the feeling.

Ace Combat 6 for PS3!? Please?... Please? As for BioShock, well Microsoft has buried its tentacles deep in 2K's macabre FPS... It could happen. It WILL happen. icon_twisted.gif

Forget bioshock and AC6, lets hope Ninja Gaiden 2 makes its way to ps3. Sigma was my first taste of NG and 2 looks sweet.
