Warhawk released on PlayStation Store

PS3 News | PSN download half the price of the retail title.
Sony has released Warhawk on the PlayStation Network Store for the very generous price of $49.95 Australian. If you'd prefer to wait for a retail version of the game, then Warhawk looks like it will be available towards the end of September for $99.95. The retail version will come bundled with a bluetooth headset.

What's surprising Warhawk is how cheap the game is on the PlayStation Store for Australia. In the US, the PlayStation Network download retails for $40 US (AUD $49) and the retail version of the game costs $60 US (AUD $73) whereas in Australia the game is half the price if you download it, as opposed to purchasing the retail version.

How big is the download though? It looks kinda like a arcade looking game, is it only 2gb or something?

Played a few games already! So good. I jumped right into a Warhawk and got shot down almost straight away haha. So I decided to jump into a SAM turret and I managed to shoot down a lot of planes. Seems like a great game so far, could potentially be the best online game for me this gen.

I may import, as it's hard to wait for 3 weeks.

Thanks for that info, I thought it would be bigger in size... I've downloaded demos that have been bigger.

As of yet I'm still deciding whether to download or disc it.

The price difference is interesting. Are Australian publishers/retail stores jacking local prices that much?

Man this game is heaps of fun. I havent laughed so much during a game in a long time. Flying those bloody warhawks is hard but still fun.

Decided to buy it, and downloading now. Wasn't all that convinced by what I had seen, but for such a cheap price for a new game, and no need to swap discs, I'm sold.

At first I thought I'd wait for the retail version, since you can't sell the downloadable version if you don't like it. But considering that anyone wanting to buy the game will KNOW that you can get it for $50 online, presumably not many people will be willing to pay more than $50 on eBay.

So, to summarize: If I buy the PSN version and don't like it, I'm out $50. If I buy the retail version, decide I don't like it, and sell it on eBay for $50, I'm out... $50.

The difference being that, in the first scenario, I still have a copy of the game.

Folded too and went out and bought a Bluetooth headse and downloaded.

798Mb is so small. Hopefully they'll release some downloadable content. Hopefully they don't charge for it, either.

I'm loving this game. Steep learning curve, but I'm getting better and better quickly. Averaging 10 kills a match, give or take, after a couple hours.

My only issue is that now I'm getting Cannot find server errors. Its killing me.

i'm still holding strong! mainly because i failed to find a bluetooth headset on the weekend so i'm kinda forced to wait for it now...

Is the bluetooth headset sold seperatly? If so how much? But more importantly is there a warhawk demo available?
^there's no demo avaliable, i don't think i can see them releasing one since its solely based on multiplayer. And the headset can be baught seperately its a Jabra BT125 and can range from $41.95 AU, the hard copy of warhawk is going to be bundled with one of these devices for $99 or something around that margin.

I went out and bought a Motorola Bluetooth headset for $44.95. It was a quick purchase that I didn't think about too much.

You can get them cheaper on eBay and I have seen them for $30 on special before.
