Conflict: Denied Ops announced

PS3 News | Shooter series continues on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Edios has revealed the latest in the Conflict series, Conflict: Denied Ops for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, previously known under the working title Crossfire. The game is once again being developed by Pivotal Games, who were behind all previous titles in the series - although Denied Ops seems to be quite a departure from the previous games.

With more of a Splinter Cell premise than the above-board military settings of the previous games, in Conflict: Denied Ops, players will control one of two black-ops agents in an undercover mission for the USA Government. The game will focus on co-op, and from the descriptions seems to play like a tactical shooter, only with a two man squad.

As you'd expect for the Director of Marketing at Eidos, Matt Gorman had this to say "Conflict: Denied Ops delivers what people want in an action game." He continued the hard sell with the line "It's brutal, explosive, and easy to pick up and play yet still incorporates advanced co-op and environmental tactics."

We've got the first three images of the game, click on the media panel below to view them.

Another game 'focusing' on co-op play? Fantastic! Looks like co-op is The New Black... finally.

So what were the previous Conflict games like, any good?
