New SoulCalibur IV screens released

PS3 News | Will these people please put some clothes on?

Namco have released a new batch of screens of their upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fighter SoulCalibur IV, and they all feature characters posing and fighting in ridiculously skimpy outfits. Unfortunately for everyone, one of those characters is Voldo. The game is looking good though - perhaps it's the extra level of detail making the 'sharp implements + swimsuits' combo seem more odd?

Quite a few characters have been confirmed to return for SoulCalibur IV, including Ivy, Siegfried, Yoshimitsu, Sophitia, Cassandra and Voldo, and at least one new character was confirmed in the last trailer. And as we reported in June, the game will feature online play on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when it is released sometime in 2008.

This ridiculous now, it's turning into DOA hopefully just in clothing and not gameplay.

Sex sells. Having girls in a game with big bouncing jugs, will get it attention. As longs as they keep the gameplay great then im happy to have them do this to the girls.

Well that's pretty sad. Sure it looks good but it's hard to take very seriously what with the ridiculous amount of T&A.

I do find if amusing that this batch of sexy screens came with a few shots of that S&M freak Voldo.

Considering you could unlock "lingerie Sophitia" in Soul Edge on the PS1, she was suprisingly flat for a fanservice character.

Soul Calibur on Dreamcast already had bouncing breasts too if you weren't aware. I guess it's a little much but the actual costume designs are pretty amazing. They'll look great if they flow nicely when animated. I'm all for it personally as it doesn't *change* gameplay so why not have gorgeous characters?

Well, there's a certain lack of realism in these outfits, but is the concept of the game that realistic to begin with?

Who's timing these strictly controlled 60-second bouts?

Not caring for this game at all. The new tekken may draw my attention but as far as fighting games go that's it.

I wasn't bagging the guy (bag... oh god), just pointing out the irony of coupling the least attractive cast member with the more pleasant variety. Namco obviously have a keen sense of humour

I haven't ever used the guy before now that I think about it... I usually stick with Mitsurugi or Ivy, tits notwithstanding.

Sophitia is my favourite character so its good to see her back. I preferred her costumes in SC2, this one is just a little too gratuitous. Cassy looks a little odd in that pic, even younger look and yuck pink shield. I'm gonna have to play her another costumes. Preferred the green version from SC2 as well, sigh...

Nice screens, but nothing tops Christie's stripper outfit in DOA4 in terms of T&A.
