Prototype coming to PS3 and 360

Vivendi has told Eurogamer that they will be publishing Prototype, a game underway at Canadian-based Radical Entertainment. You might remember the company's previous effort - Scarface: The World Is Yours. Prototype is set to be a free-roaming third person adventure, in the style of Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row.

Players will control Alex Mercer, the victim of a botched science experiment. It's not all bad for dear Alex though, since he's got some neat unique abilities at his disposal. For instance, when he kills a person, he absorbs their memory, appearance and whatever abilities they may process. Handy. There doesn't seem to be a limit to how much he can absorb, either, so Alex might be a walking tank by the end of the game. Oh, and there's an online co-op mode, apparently.

Expect to see this one on shelves for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox next year. More information as it comes.

Game sounds interesting to say the least. Also good to know that there's more new IPs being announced.

It sounds interesting in the way that many games do before they're released as forgettable, third-rate shelf-filler. I hope it doesn't succumb to that fate, as I'd love to romp around a city as some (no doubt) brooding anti-hero in what (no doubt) should be a serious game... pretending to be Kirby.

Yeh, I don't think that this game will do any good, it sounds similar to Infamous (which looks like it will do much better, can't wait for it!! GTA superhero or supervillain, I've always wanted one!!)
