Ratchet and Clank Future demo coming soon

PS3 News | It's coming in the future.
Following on from the confirmation that a demo for Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword would be released this Thursday Game Informer has confirmed with Sony that a demo for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be coming shortly.

With Heavenly Sword due this week it's unlikely Sony would release demos for two of their biggest 07 titles on the same day, so we would bank on the demo coming next week; or of course the week after...

Please let that happen, please let that happen. If they came out on the same day, it would be the highlight of the past month for me. icon_smile.gif Still, shortly is almost as good, if not on Thursday that should mean next week.

I've enjoyed all the Ratchet games so far (yes, including Gladiator, though not as much as the others). I love their story lines and humor, the characters are great (lol @ Quark) and some great gameplay additions have been added over time (such as upgradable weapons). I like the bolts currency. icon_smile.gif

WOW!! The geometry in some of these Ps3 games is absolutely amazing!!

I've only played the first Ratchet and Clank and that was a while ago now (when it first came out) but despite it being a really solid game I just didn't like the futuristic atmosphere/look of it all.....the characters were cool (the humour fell a bit short imo but it wasn't a biggie....atleast the characters were likable) but exploring felt like a chore cuz i'm just not a fan of futuristic settings (unless it's dark/gritty/gory/ruins) so I haven't bothered with the others in the series (despite those getting good reviews aswell) but now might be a good time to jump back into the series.

I swear those screens look exactly like some of the levels from the first game but all done with today's (tomorrow's?) graphics.

For once I'm actually majorly pumped for a Ratchet game. I enjoyed the first one but I preferred the Jak series over it. However this looks wicked.

i've never been big into this franchise but looking forward to it now. But having these two awesome games and my ability to suck at multitasking between the two i need to lock one away until i finish the first one

Holy hell! Ratchet and Clank IS the prettiest game on the PS3.

This is not a bash on Microsoft, but compare the differences between the PS2 Ratchet and Clank and the PS3 Ratchet and Clank. Now compare the old Halo and the new Halo.

Amazing!

Looks to be lots of gaming goodness on the horizon for Sony.

To be honest the only reason I've never liked Rathet and Clank is because in some levels there were respawning enemies, and I bloody hate that, so I gave up on it.

Poor excuse maybe?

^ Nope respawning enemies are TABOO!!! Just don't do it unless there is a way of destroying the source of where the enemies are coming from.....or JUST DON'T DO IT!!!

Take heed devs!

^ Yup exactly. If we had one of those 'things you hate about games' threads (please Ads don't do it) that would make the top of my list.

It really kills it for me and **** me, to the point where I turn it off and never play it again.

Seems like a small thing to get so worked up over, it's never bothered me in the slightest. Maybe it's because I've always gotten into the mood of the game, anything in my path gets destroyed, if it respawns then I'll kill it again if it gets in my way. I don't remember it happening all that much over the series of games, never been an issue for me. Even if it was, I can get over fairly minor things like that because the overall game experience is of such high quality. To be honest (not having a dig at you guys in particular), I think it's rather silly when people get put off things so easily, they end up missing out on so much.

But that's just me.

respawning can be annoying, i hate walking around to see an enemy again... but unless its logical, as if there was a factory constantly producing robot monsters and gave you the ability to destroy the machines which produced them it would be fine, but for them to appear out of nowhere is a bit tiring especially if you like to explore the level and constantly have to clean while doing it.

It more annoyed me in Ratchet and Clank becasue I'd use up all my good weapons on them

I can only remember one stage where there was respawning enemies...I think the ice stage in Ratchet and Clank 3.

But like I said, it annoyed me so much that I never played it again.

The worst part I always found was the difficulty would suddenly jump on them, you would be cruising along through the game and then all of a sudden you come across some super hard your-dead-before-you-even-blink kind of dudes roll up and you are stuck for ages in one or two sections, I never get past those bits and thus have never finished a single one of these games.

Never played Ratchet but am willing to give a look into it.

Onto respawning enemies: There utter bs. The only game where respawning enemies wasn't a problem was on Metroid Prime and Unreal series, otherwise it was just plain annoying.

I really cannot recall any respawning enemies in the ratchet and clank series. I have thoroughly played through 1 and 2 and if they were indeed about i hardly noticed them. I love the series for its humuor, awesome level designs, quirky stories, amazing weapons arsenal and easy control scheme. This game will be hopefully one of many great platformers this gen.

Hopefully they do a jak and daxter PS3 game also. They will probably start making it, if they havn't already, after they release Drakes.

Good news, a new Jak game is in development, it's called Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. We can only hope that it turns out as well as Ratchet and Clank has, Naughty Dog certainly seem to know what they're doing though from the looks of Uncharted.

Because that's bulls***. It was just a registered name. Naughty Dog haven't said a word about Jak in a long time. Could be a PSP game for all we know.

^As I suspected, as I scour the internet everyday for ANY form of PS3 news, and I can't imagine missing Jak of all things.

Cheers.

Not true. While there may not be any content for it, it is most certainly a PS3 game. See here for proof.
