E3 2007: Wipeout HD announced

PS3 News | The series is back on a console.

The WipEout series has a long history, with the originally released in 1995 for the PlayStation, as well as two well received sequels. The series took a dive in quality and sales on the PS2, but bounced back recently with an excellent PSP game, so a PlayStation 3 version seemed a certainty.

That certainty has been confirmed today by Sony, who showcased a trailer for WipEout HD at the Sony E3 Press Conference. Details on the game are scarce, but it seems like the game is a remake of the very first WipEout title. As soon as more information on the game becomes available we'll report back.

Sweet I've always loved Wipeout since the first one, man was that some hardcore fun bring it on.
