E3 2007: Sony announces Infamous

PS3 News | Sucker Punch's new IP exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
At their E3 press conference, Sony revealed that Sucker Punch, the developers behind the Sly Cooper series are working on a new IP, Infamous for the PlayStation 3.

A third-person action game of the 'sandbox' vein, Infamous presents the player with the choice of being either a hero or a villain bent on wreaking havoc in a city environment.

Other than that admittedly vague description of gameplay possibilities, all we know about Infamous at the moment is that it's due out out in 2008. The first image of the game can be found in our media panel.

Although Sony have some decent IP's this one doesn't sound that great. I mean the concept of being hero or villain seems old and boring to me now.

Judging from the attatched image, the art design looks interesting. Competing with GTA is never an easy task and i hope they put alot into this game.

Hope nobody has problems with statin my opinion too early, but wreaking havoc and free roaming through a city, being hero or villain, that sounds really kool. I'll probably get it...
