LittleBigPlanet screens

PS3 News | New shots of cute community-based title.
Sony has spawned another batch of screens for the PlayStation 3's fetching LittleBigPlanet.

Due at some point in 2008, the community-centric game sees players begin life on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots. From here, they can mingle and interact with other gamers from all over the globe, and use their character’s abilities to play, create and share what they build. Which all sounds fantastically promising - a sort of Animal Crossing/Sims/Second Life hybrid, with extra shovels of charm.

Three of the new screens show off the gameplay, while the other two depict a quirky-looking menu and some concept art (featuring a few, um, familiar faces). Head Media Panel-wards for a gander.

Image 4/5 is pure, unfiltered awesome; the little brown guy standing infront of the ye olde/rock out graffiti with a pose suggesting "Behold my creatiion!" icon_biggrin.gif
Love it to bits.

Even though I don't dig on any of the influences listed in the article, LittleBigPlanet is right up there near the top of my 'anticipated games list' for the PS3.

The game shows that casual games don't always have to have simple outdated graphics.

Yea this is really one of my more anticipated titles....but I don't really look at it as a game....more like a pasttime....like say if you were to be fooling around with paintshop or something. ANyways it's mainly the awesome real world textures that have roped me in aswell as the super cute/deformed look.

My fave screen is actually the one with the friends page....Wow it looks awesome! So much colour and character! Also if you look at the image in the back it looks like a planet (little big planet?) and you can see everyone's plot of land etc. It all looks so friendly and inviting and looks like a place you wanna spend some time fooling around in.

I like the idea of being able to design your own characters....that would be awesome.

What are you talking about? Mike the Plumber is a completely original character, like Manic Mailman, Flatulent Fox and Disgruntled Goat. icon_twisted.gif
