Multiplayer for Heavenly Sword?

PS3 News | They're considering it.
Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades has said that the PlayStation 3-bound Heavenly Sword could well end up with a multiplayer mode, though also added that such a feature would only appear after the game has launched, as a piece of downloadable content.

"There's no multiplayer mode in Heavenly Sword as our focus was always to create an intense personal experience; it would have been too damn complex to deal with that as well," Antoniades explained in a Eurogamer interview. "We did, however, develop the combat system using multiplayer test levels, as it's a great way of soak testing and balancing it."

"So who knows? Maybe we will decide to go down that route sometime soon. And when we do, it won't just be slapped-on to please marketing tick-boxes. You can be assured that we have our sights on multiplayer."

Heavenly Sword is due for release this September. Because September wasn't going to be expensive enough already.

Now that is very interesting, I didn't except that piece of news! Heaven;y Sword is curently my most anticipated PS3 for this year, and I always expected it to be a kick-a$$ single player affair (which it still will be, hopefully icon_smile.gif ). Adding a multiplayer mode would normally have me very concerned, with less time/resources to go towards the single player mode, the overall quality would have likely suffered. Adding multiplayer after the game is released however, is an excellent idea, and something I commend the developers for.

Great news, I wonder how they will implement it? I guess there will be other characters aside from the main one who will be plyable, even if it's only for the multiplayer mode. It feels a little like a Metroid Prime 2 situation, where you have only one main (known) character, yet you want to have a multiplayer mode. Time will tell I guess. icon_smile.gif
