Killzone beta confirmed

PS3 News | It's not tonight though.

Guerilla's Seb Downie has confirmed on the official Killzone boards that there will be a public beta for Killzone on the PlayStation 3.

Downie stated, "Of course there is going to be a public beta. I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended." This announcement is perfectly timed for Sony, as the Halo 3 beta has just launched on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Aw, you got my hopes up for a second.

I'm very interested in this, there's been a fair bit of controversy over this game (especially after that infamous traler, which really caught my eye), and since then I've been keeping an eye on the game, to see if it turns out anything like they claimed it would. Now that this beta is coming, we'll finally get to see what the real game is actually like for ourselves, and get to have a crack at the multiplayer, just as with Halo 3.

Not much of a contender against Halo 3 though, is it?

Still, Sony have to do what they can. The timing is certainly interesting.

Its surprising Sony still think that Killzone can compete with Halo. Even if Halo 3 was a total bum of a game, and Killzone was the greatest piece of electronic fun in a hundred years, Halo 3 would still outsell Killzone. Thats just the way it is..

And is it just me or is Sony always following up whatever is going on at Microsoft HQ and vice versa? The two need to stop bitch fighting.

i'm looking forward to this beta hopefully pal reigons will be included in the beta unlike home T_T

and there has to be bitch fighting to constantly see improvement, cant have friendly rivals now can we >.>

i'm still waiting for the online patch that was supposed to make killzone liberation an online game.

but moving forward I really enjoyed the first killzone, I look forward to seeing how this one is going to go.

The Killzone Liberation Patch is due out within the month, and trust me, its certainly will be worth the wait. They have a few bugs they are sorting out just before release, although it was meant to be out by the end of March, GG are really pushing for a polished and great game.

When MotherH sez it will be a Public beta, i wouldnt hold your breath. The way Sony have kept Killzone '3' under wraps i doubt we'll see it like we've seen Halo3 beta. It will be an 'internal' public beta.

A beta would be great, but as Lion-face mentioned, it'll be very under wraps and internal, Considering how covered up Killzone 3 already is.
