PlayStation Home beta kicks off

PS3 News | Only internal staff and testers for now, though.

A Sony press release has confirmed that a closed beta test for PlayStation Home, the avatar-based community hub of the PlayStation 3's online network, has begun.

Starting with an initially small group of both internal staff and known beta testers, the test is set to be opened up to the unwashed masses at some point during the summer (winter for those in the Southern hemisphere), including those registered on www.homebetatrial.com.

Sux so bad we can't try it out....but it's great it's finally getting off the ground....the Ps3's online/networking features need a lot of attention at the moment because it has a lot of potential and functionality....it's just doesn't have the software to support it.

nod nod, i'm a bit disappointed that we didnt have the opportunity to participate in this beta since i was constantly monitoring the homebetatrial.com site, either way i'm glad its made a move and can only way patiently until it becomes available for us.

i'm interested to see what users/pr's have to say when they bring us updates on the progress/added features that come into play from now until open beta takes place.

I am sure it will be publicly available when possible. Personally by the time I have saved enough to spare a PS3 home will already be out (need a new washing machine and dryer doesn't exactly help)

closed beta from april-august and open from august-october before becomming fully open i think

Use laundromats. That way you can save a lot of money in the short-term.
