360 trio make the leap to PS3

PS3 News | Including next game from the Hitman team.
It's been confirmed by publisher SCi Entertainment that both Kane & Lynch and Crossfire will be appearing on the PlayStation 3, as well as the Xbox 360 and PC. Kane & Lynch, the next project from the studio that was behind the Hitman games, will be released in time for Christmas, while an early-2008 release looks most likely for Crossfire, the next entry in the Conflict series.

A statement released to the City today by SCi, and flagged up by GamesIndustry.biz, read, "The group's strategy is to release its new titles on next-generation consoles once there is a significant installed base... The board of SCi believes the installed base of PlayStation 3 will reach critical mass in the group's 2008 financial year." Apparently, the pair are "currently in advanced stages of development".

What's more, they could shortly be joined by Namco Bandai JRPG Eternal Sonata, which was recently listed on the website of US and Canadian ratings board ESRB as both an Xbox 360 and PS3 title. Namco Bandai refused to comment on whether or not the game would be appearing on Sony's next-gen machine, but the ESRB website is usually a rock-solid source of information.

Previously Eidos held the stance that they wouldn't release products on the PS3 until the 2008 financial year. So considering that K&L will be released in the 08 financial year, it kinda always has been.

I got a magazine with my PS3 on the night of launch and it had a preview of Kane and Lynch: Dead Men. It was an exclusive PS3 magazine... so it wasn't featuring 360 games or anything. So I don't see why it's just now "confirmed". Looks like it was planned months ago, especially since PALGN have always had it in the PS3 future releases list.

odd for them to say that they arnt going to produce games for the ps3 user base is stronger but that could've been before the launch in pal reigons. I'll be happy as long as they are all quality games, or they'll just sit on the shelf if its a crappy port which could be picked up cheaper on another console.
