New Lair screens swoop in

PS3 News | Delayed, but looking mighty handsome.
Another fourteen shots of Factor 5's Lair were slung in the PALGN mailbox today, just 24 hours after it was revealed that the eagerly awaited PS3 title would not be ready in time for its expected May release. The latest screens only rub salt in the fresh wounds, in truth - frankly, it's looking flippin' gorgeous, and we'd like it now, please. And is it just us, or is there a hint of Shadow of the Colossus in how it all looks? Not a bad thing, certainly.

oh yes please, deffinately want it now! it does remind me of colossus but also reminds me of oblivion. Anyway i'm more than happy to wait and let them build it properly than to rather rush through the process.

Umm...WOW!! I've always been interested in Lair....but only because it involves dragons (and other huge creatures....some which seem to dwarf the dragon)....but i've never known what the game entails...but after seeing those screens I need to find out! I hope it's more like Panzer Dragoon Orta (on rails shooter) and not an RPG. As much as I would like there to be quite a lot of depth (so the experience lasts longer), I would much rather a more cinematic experience....because damn...those monsters and graphics look right up my alley!

I don't care how good this game ends up being it'll be nothing on Shadow of Colossus! Infact I don't think i'll ever see a game again that had the same sort of impact on me that The Shadow of Colossus did.

Whats there is technicaly brilliant, just beautifull. but the world could do with some more details, more objects and stuff if you know what i mean.

I managed to catch a demo of the first level on gametrailers and was very impressed. The screen shots are really doing the game justice as this game also looks phenominal in motion as well as stills. I will be waiting anxiously for the arrival of this title. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Yep, looks amazing. It will be interesting to find out the story line and stuff like that. Should be a great title!

lol you can repost that comment 'if' you ever get the game on a ps3 with hdmi cables plugged into a hd tv running at 1080p >.>

i downloaded the trailer from the Us ps store and whoah, it looks great. The idea is great aswell and being a big fan of dragons right up my alley. It was only a teaser trailer an it lives to that name.

just a small note on that whole 1080i/p would i be that much less than p? i know that p is preffered but wondered if it really was that much difference than having it as i
6 years ago
^It's not really that different. Progressive moves a little smoother I've noticed, but otherwise it's not such a huge difference. You might get a bit of flickering as usual with interlacing.

Everyone acts as if 1080p is the next coming of god.

As Frozen said, it looks a little smoother than 1080i. 1080i is just as detailed as 1080p though.

ah thats kinda comforting to hear since what i'm purchasing supports 1080i but not p, so kinda had me worried that my selection wasnt worth being connected to the ps3

sorry to keep being a bother but the television i had in mind would be the

i dont know if it does support the highest resolutions and not being technically savvy i was hoping someone would know if it does or not.

once again very sorry for the inconvience ><

1080p like said above is just smoother with faster moving games. But otherwise there is little difference but if you view some blu-ray movies it can be a little more seen. Thats just my op but isaw a difference when i went looking at some 1080p screens running bluray but when paying a game i saw very minimal difference.

Its a very standard LCD.

The resolution is 1366*768 which would support 720p but not 1080i.

awww crap T_T and here i thought i was safe with atleast 1080i *sobs* i wont be able to enjoy bluray at its finiest ><

Games like Lair are incentives for me to start saving for a PS3, but, unfortunately it alone isn't enough. Lair will absolutely rock, but ONE game isn't enough (yet) to justify the full purchase.

So with that in mind, I'll get to enjoy it in a year or so when there are more games for me to justify a purchase with. icon_biggrin.gif

The sense of scale is fantastic, but some of those screens are uuuuuugly. But it's Factor 5, so I'm happy to give then the benefit of the doubt. Plus it's got dragons in it which automatically makes it awesome.

What do you mean by Factor 5?

Factor 5 is the company making the game ~
