Lair and Heavenly Sword won't make May

PS3 News | Further slippage for promising pair.
It's been confirmed by Sony that PS3 duo Lair and Heavenly Sword will both miss their May release dates, despite what the official PlayStation website might have to say on the matter.

When approached by a fretful Eurogamer for confirmation over the release plans for each title, a Sony representative simply admitted, "Both those [May] dates are wrong. We haven't got any release dates for those at the moment; they're just pencilled in for 2007."

Lair, a Factor 5-developed flight combat game where players straddle colossal dragons, and Heavenly Sword, a visually stunning martial arts-based adventure game, are shaping up to be among the most promising PS3 titles over the coming months. When they'll actually arrive is another matter, and one that Sony will hopefully address in more detail soon.

I can't see either title making 2007.

in a way this is a relief, originally 3 titles i wanted (Armored core 4, lair & heavenly sword) were all released to close to each other for me to afford, now this makes things easier (though i still want them as soon as possible)

no this is baaad, at least you could buy one game at a time and leave the other's on the shelve now you'll be able to buy one game and just keep starring at the shelve wondering when they'll come in.

i agree with LeonJ that they wont be making their apperance in '07...

WOW, what a shock, these two games are further delayed!!!

Seriously though, they both look like quality games, and i guess the more polished the better. They better be out this year though or my optimistic outlook will turn to one of fury!

It's been off the release charts for a while now if I recall. I don't mind the wait, as the longer it takes to finish, the better the game it'll be. Lair has so much potential it's not funny, and Heavenly Sword is potentially the next God of War/Devil May Cry quality IP for Sony.

Yes i'm deffinately having a hard time being able to hold myself back from going into rage that its not going to be released for quite some time. I can only look forward to what other brilliant games this console will be able to produce with its hardware.

Hmmm, I wouldn't even dare try and predict when these will come out now I mean they could be this year or next. The lack of media pretty much says it all though, it will be a while yet still.

im thinking late 2007 at the earliest.

Lair is technically demanding

haven't seen too much of heavenly sword but no doubt japan will get it first and then maybe some sort of localization required. its a japanese developed game isnt it?

Man, that sucks. Will we ever get Heavenly Sword? I have this feeling that it won't make it for 2007!

Don't think so. I know it was from a small studio which Sony decided to give a chance.

I remember them having a documentary of their progress shot in New Zealand.... I think.

yeah heavenly sword is made by weta productions, the same group that did lotr, actually the main bad character has been acted by the person who plays smegal in lotr as well.
