System 3 announces Ferrari Challenge

PS3 News | I've got a big red shiny car.
System 3 has announced today that Ferrari Challenge is on its way to the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable.

The game will be based on the Ferrari Challenge series and will feature real cars, real tracks and true Ferrari racing dyanmics. The PlayStation 3 version will include support for up to 16 players online. The PSP and DS versions will feature 4-player wireless play including adhoc play and game share and the Wii version will include control with a Wii steeing wheel.

System 3 CEO Mark Cale added, “Video games and racing have been my two passions during the twenty-five years that I’ve been in the business. Finally the two have collided and I’m immensely proud to be bringing the Ferrari Challenge to market this year. We have invested in the best development talent in the industry and I’m confident that the game will be even more impressive than the license.”

Ferrari’s Katia Bassi, Head of Licensing said, “Mark has been a highly valued customer of Ferrari for over twenty years during which time we have developed a special relationship including System 3 becoming a sponsor of our 60th birthday anniversary road tour and celebrations. We know that the Ferrari Challenge is in good hands as Mark himself is an experienced Challenge series driver, giving him a unique insight into translating the technical aspects of our engineering to the medium of video games”.

The Dreamcast version was ok, but MCR racer (I think), was a better game at the time.

i am always a bit sceptical about exclusive race titles, they usually lack something that the big names have like Gran turismo, burnout, v8 supercars etc.. but only time will tell.

i'm deffinately interested in seeing how this one turns out, if the screenshots turn out okay then i'll probably go out and buy it since racing online sounds fun who normally just plays fps and mmo's online.

Out of interest, who currently holds the license to Ferrari vehicles?

we have to have a license oO???

^ No, not we as gamers. The developers who want to include a manufacturer in their game, have to have the right (read: license) to do so first.
