God of War PS3 confirmed

PS3 News | Coming with tilt and vibration.

Whilst God of War 2's launch event was taking place overnight in the US, director Cory Barlog spilled a few details on Kratos' next-generation debut. According to a live blog report by 1UP, Barlog revealed that a future God of War game will include 1080p visuals and will also include Sixaxis support and vibration functions. Sony only recently signed a deal with Immersion for future technologies, so promising we'd see rumble so early seems a little premature.

Barlog believes co-op has a place in future God of War titles, but the mode can't simply be a last minute inclusion. "Does co-op have a place in God of War? If we can do something unique with it, yeah, but it is really an early exploration of that in my head really," he said. "It's not even a discussion with the team. We're not even moving on to do the game yet. I'm thinking how can we incorporate this without damaging what happens in the game, without having it feel silly."

Thank you lord. The best new IP of recent years deserves the PS3 treatment.

If anyone can achieve 1080p in an action game its going to these guys. And tilt + vibration?? This is what next-gen is all about.

I know that when I get my hands on GoW2 and see what the guys have done with the PS2 hardware, this news in going to sink in and I'm going to go slightly insane with anticipation. Also rumble!

This is actually really big news since this is the first PS3 game confirmed to contain rumble.

Hmm, funny how people got so emotional when rumble was given the chop but don't seem to want to attend its reunion party.

This isn't a reunion party - that'll be when they actually release a controller with (next-gen)rumble support. All this is, is a someone spouting off about what they want their game to include when it's done. No offence to the GoW team at all, as their work is brilliant - just saying.

^ They said they WANT co-op and at the same time they confirmed rumble so obviously a rumbly controller is coming out.

All I'm saying is that I don't much care that a dev is saying their game will feature rumble - I'll start being excited when I see the controller that rumbles. Knowing that we'll probably have rumble for the PS3 in a year and a half or so when this game is done... well ****, that's not much to get excited about. Sooner rather than later with the rumble, thanks
