Stuntman: Ignition revealed

PS3 News | Online play confirmed.
THQ has announced via a press release that Stuntman: Ignition is under development at Paradigm Entertainment and is scheduled to come out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PS2 in third quarter, 2007.

In the original Stuntman players would take control of a Hollywood stuntman and would have to try and recreate spectacular stunts. Stuntman: Ignition will include 25 vehices, including sports cars, motorcycles and a hovercraft. The game will also include online support, so you'll be able to battle it out on films sets and try and create a better movie scene than your opponent.

"Stuntman: Ignition delivers an addictive blend of death-defying stunts and precision-based driving unlike anything seen before," said Dave Gatchel, General Manager, Paradigm Studios. "With an action-packed career mode and intense online multiplayer, gamers will have plenty to prove to become Hollywood's next big stuntman."

I didnt mind the first Stuntman and hopefully this time around it'll be better. Don't know what they can do for online play though, maybe possibly including a stunt editor and you can upload your stunt for others to try?

Actually having two people co-ordinating the stunts would lead to some pretty impressive stuff.

One person could be barrel rolling from a jump while the other person is smashing through a wall with a semi trailer clipping the barrel rolling car so it lands on the back of the semi trailer...or something *erm* icon_lol_old.gif

It sounds though that it is going to be more competetive though which I hope is not the only way to play multi.Co-op is where it is at for heaps of fun.

Hopefully it won't be anywhere near as buggy as the original. I never got past the snow movie thanks to some downright frustrating bugs.

I also enjoyed the original Stuntman back in the day (Reflections were behind it no?) so when I heard the news about this, a smile came to my dial. Not sure whether that was to do with the actual announcement though or to do with some of the memories of the game I have, but either way I think this is good news and I will definitely be keeping my eye on this title as it continues in development. With any luck it will turn out as decent, if not better than the original and if it can manage that, it's a purchase from me. icon_smile.gif
