Final Fantasy XIII demo available for 2007

PS3 News | Development team working hard.
Before the latest Square Enix supergame Final Fantasy XII even hits the shelves here in Australia, there is talk of a Final Fantasy XIII demo becoming available in 2007 - possibly playable by the warped E3 2007.

Japanese gaming mag Dengeki chatted it up with the development team who spilled the beans about the possible E3 demo, and progress is well underway. Details are still extremely scarce, but those picking up a PS3 in the next few months may indeed get a chance to take Final Fantasy XIII for a spin.

Final Fantasy XII is still on the horizon - the long-awaited PS2 RPG is scheduled for a February release. We're still working our way through the game to bring a timely and accurate review to you, coinciding with the release in Australia, so until then check out our latest preview.

I like the sound of that, I'd love to have a shot at FFXIII! icon_smile.gif FFXII is old news now for people who imported (like me). I didn't actually finish FFXII, I'm totally over it. I didn't like it very much, and I got stuck. I feel sad having to say that, since FF is one of my fav RPG series. icon_sad.gif

Don't say stuff like that Admeister you're starting to scare me into thinking I might not like FFXII. AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't played FFXII yet, but I'm looking forward to it... despite the fact that I personally disliked FFX to an insane degree.

From what I've seen and heard of XII, the atmosphere seems somewhat like Vagrant Story, which would definitely make me look twice.

News of a demo for XIII is definitely encouraging... but Square will have to make sure it's refined beyond belief for such an important title.

Guess that means we have opposite tastes then, since FFX is probably my fav FF game. icon_smile.gif

Sorry if I put anybody off FFXII, I'm just being honest. Sad, but true.

Nah doesn't matter I'll get it anyway. I got FFX-2 and I have to disagree with the relatively highscore palgn gave it. Everyone has their own opinions and one should not be pit off by them.

It was much better than FFX-2, that was tres terrible. FFX I didnt like mainly cause of the lead character and story did kinda drag on, Wakka was cool though so was Al Cid. I do think FFXII, than FFX.

The FFXII graphics were amazing though, no arguements there.

FFXIII..I kinda wish I had ps3 now and Sony wasnt jerking me with the price, I chose an xbox..ah.

I really liked Final Fantasy X especially the story and I actually liked Tidus...Auron was my favourite though.

I'll be buying FFXII, or atleast hiring it out no questions asked.

That's why I said I personally didn't like it. There was nothing wrong with it on a technical basis (the difficulty level was a little inconsistent perhaps, but that's a minor issue).

A person's favourite Final Fantasy game is a VERY personal issue. Some people adored 7, whilst others preferred the earlier titles. Some people loved 9, whilst others felt they took it in the wrong direction. I myself loved 7, but it may have been due to the fact that it was my first Final Fantasy game. Certainly, playing Chrono Trigger AFTER the fact made me less impressed with some elements of Final Fantasy's plot that I'd originally thought were totally unique (lead character disappearing/dying).

I do think that the attempt to reinvent the combat system in XII seems like an inspired choice. Turn-based RPG's really do need a shot in the arm.

For me, FFXII wins out in the gameplay department, hands down. As far as story goes, both FFXII and FFX are relatively uninspiring icon_razz.gif (FFXII had potential but the plot really fell away in the latter half of the game)

i liked the story of ffx
it got rather dark (in a good way) nearing the end
ffxiii will be released in 2011 if it takes a page from ff12 which it probably will

dunno about ffxii's story because i havent played it but it seems good
lol loosing relevance

Only PlayStation Final Fantasy gamers? Because I'm seeing a lack of love for Final Fantasy VI in here, which is by far the greatest Final Fantasy title - story and gameplay. icon_biggrin.gif

Same here. icon_smile.gif Auron rocks.

Nev: I understood what you meant, I was just mentioning what I thought. I like FFVII a lot as well, like most FF fans.

IV with the emo paladin who was so much better as a dark knight. icon_razz.gif

That being said i also saw FFXII for sale at the Melbourne EBgames for the usual $99.95 price tag, it was an Europe version too so someones been tinkering with the releases somewhere.

As for the XIII demo, meh is all i got to say. Give me a damn main character with a spine and some cahooneys rather than the femininity of the past 4.

The lead character is a chick, so bad luck if you were hoping for the cahooneys. icon_razz.gif

Bah, its doomed before it's even finished! They're gonna make her into some pop princess who's main attack is bending over and watching all guys in the immediate vicinity fall on their asses. Woe is my chances of purchasing it already, WOE!
