New MotorStorm screens

PS3 News | Could do with a wash.
Seven new pics of PlayStation 3 racer MotorStorm hurtled their way towards us today, with Evolution's off-roader looking as gloriously destructive and messy as ever. As you'd expect, the lastest batch of screens (all of which are 1280 x 720, it's worth adding) feature more of the game's spectacular collisions and airborne vehicles, even if there is still a disappointing lack of gameplay shots.

Hit the Media Panel for the muddy goodness.

absolutely awsome, IMO

Paint me green and call me Gumby. Is that in-game? Amazing.

Small note to Palgn: I think this is the only site where Next and Previous are backwards when browsing media. Might just be me but I find it a little confusing icon_wink.gif

I believe the next/backwards thing happens on IGN, too. Or 1up.
One of the two.

Motorstorm really isn't all impressive. Don't get me wrong, it looks great when you're going fast, but when you eventually stack, or have to slow down, you start noticing how low-res all the landscape looks. Standard launch fare, really.

^Wouldn't mind something similar on the 360 though. Looks like fun.

The shots in the media panel aren't from the BS pre-rendered vid, they're rendered using the in-game engine by the looks of 'em - you can especially tell on the last one, where the really low-res looking ground texture, ugly grass sprites, and simplistic models give it away.

Ah nice I'd not seen that video before. Not on par with all the "static" screenshots released but still looks fairly decent (not really drool-worthy tho...).

Why do these renders even make news? Just padding?

As far as I knew I thought they were ingame.

This and resistance are the ones i'm getting at launch so far.

They are, that's how it looks (when showing optimal looking screenshots).

That leads me to wonder... do the PS3 devkits have a hi-res screenshot function similar to the PS2, perhaps? The PS2 devkits were capable to outputting screenshots at a much higher res than the games actually played in - which made for great (and misleading) screenshots.

Whether the screens are in game or not, it still looks like its going to be one hell of a fun game. Although I can't see myself getting a PS3 for a couple of years I hope the online service is up to the task for those who get this game as I think the concept is great for online because it doesn't matter too much if your racing idiots.
