The study was carried out throughout October and surveyed active current-gen gamers. It also revealed that nearly 60% in the same category said the PlayStation 3's price was too high, while 73% of all those surveyed thought the price was also too expensive.
63% of those who owned a PlayStation 2 said they may pick up PlayStation 3 which was considerably higher to the 39% of those who owned a GameCube and said they'd consider buying a Wii. Remarkably, 40% of those who owned a GameCube also said they may buy a PlayStation 3.
Compete have done the maths and calculated that there is an average of 418,000 US consumers each month who show an interest in the Xbox 360. The PlayStation 3 exceeded the demand of the Xbox 360 in September with Wii following similar patterns in October. With just days away from its launch in the US, the PlayStation 3 is currently generating the highest consumer demand.
