Xfire confirmed for Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom

PS3 News | Finally some good online news for the PlayStation 3.
Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) have confirmed today via a press release that the PlayStation 3 launch title, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom will featured Xfire functionality. Gamers will be able to track when their friends are playing as well as chat with players on either a PC or a PlayStation 3.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom will launch with Xfire’s friend tracking and chat services. If you're connected to the internet whilst on your PlayStation 3 then you can log in to Xfire from the front end of Dark Kingdom. This will then give you notice when your friends log into the Xfire network, which seems a little bit fiddly.

Xfire also took the opportunity to announce that it has received a PlayStation 3 Tools and Middleware Development and License Agreement from Sony Computer Entertainment. This will allow Xfire to create SDK that will enable certain Xfire features for developers.

With still no firm word on how the rest of the PlayStation 3's network will work we're pleased to hear at least some good news about the online support, although more information would be appreciated. We'll report more on the PlayStation 3's online network as soon as it becomes available.
