F.E.A.R coming to the PlayStation 3

PS3 News | It will be a launch title as well.

Vivendi have confirmed today that F.E.A.R is coming to the PlayStation 3 and it will be a launch title, which means the game will be available in just under a few months.

Vivendi have been scarce on details but it seems the game will be a port of the PC version, but with added content such as new single player content and hopefully new online modes. Some screenshots also accompanied this announcement and they can be found in the media panel.

That's good. F.E.A.R will be a good launch title for the PS3. Wonder how the motion gear with the PS3 will come into the game.

i thought Monolith said they weren't going to Port this

i suppose that's what happens when you have a spat with the distributor resulting in the developer losing the IP.

I hope they actually add some more content to the storyline because F.E.A.R on the PC was pretty short(but an absolute blast to play through).
Took me like 6 hours to finish

which imo is waay too short for a game of this type.Then again the game has that replayabilty that stems from 'perfecting' your sweep through the level and getting that perfect rush through.

And ugh...asif you'd have to choose

I'd get the one that gets released first.

Unless there are great differences in what they have ported to the PS3 it should be similar if not exactly the same as the 360 version(which also has the new lighting and particle system)

Nice problem to have - I'd sell the 360 and put the funds towards PS3 associated materials.

Sell the 360 for the PS3 version? It wouldn't be worth it for a port.

That's very odd, the screenshots look like a PS2 game. It's probably the low resolution of the images.

It's kind of like what happened to Resident Evil 4 on the GsmeCube. Originally it was only for the GC but then soon came to the PS2.

Pity its not coming out on Wii. I think the remote thing woulld work well with this game. Can only hope.

How do you know this? The 360 version also has extra features over the PC original.

Yes. And how could you possibly know, with the PS3 not even close to being out.

But considering that the PS3 has been in production longer than the 360, maybe they have added something on that the 360 doesnt have?
