In the same article, Kojima also revealed that the stealth camouflage that featured in the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer at E3 would play a key role. Apparently, Snake's 'active camouflage system' - also known as 'Octo-cam' (a combination of Octopus and Camouflage - duh) - will allow our hero to blend, chameleon-like, into his surroundings. Apparently, 'Octo-cam' was chosen because an Octopus can alter its colour and shape to melt into its surroundings, something that requires a graphical trick that's only possible on the PS3, says Kojima.
The destructible scenery in the game also means that you'll have to take care when using your Octo-cam - according to Kojima, you could be busy blending into a wall one moment, but find yourself revealed if said wall is destroyed. In such a scenario, you'd be advised to hit the floor pronto, and blend in there. If you are located though, you'll at least have an excuse to use one of Snake's new moves, one of which was apparently nicked from the military training Kojima himself underwent.
Finally, Kojima addressed his own future in the interview, and revealed that his decision of a few months ago to stand down after Guns of the Patriots still stands. "The series belongs to Konami and the fans, but I have the liberty to stop," he said.
