E3 2006: Fatal Inertia speeds onto PS3

PS3 News | Hovercraft racing returns! Screens inside.
Koei is hoping their take on the 'futuristic racer' genre will be enough to convince gamers that their AU$999 was well spent, as it's due for release alongside the PS3 in both Japan and the US this November. Fatal Inertia seems to have a variety of ships reminiscent of Genre King F-zero GX, but unlike F-Zero and Wipeout, there does not appear to be any track. In fact, the whole race seems to be set in a Star Wars: Phantom Menace style canyon (that is, it looks like the Nevada desert).

While we don't know much more, futuristic racers are often good tech demos for new systems, so it may be one to watch for the PS3 launch. Check out our screens if you feel like it, and we'll get back to you with more soon!

It would be interesting if the developers of this game implement the new motion sensor technology that the PS3 controller has. It seems a perfect game for it imo.

Just what I was thinking, however Sony probably didn't give the developers much notice of the new addition to the controller. Perhaps they will have time to add it in before it launches through.
