E3 2006: Resistance: Fall of Man drops on PS3

PS3 News | Shooter from the Ratchet and Clank team; first images included.
Insomniac, the developers of the Ratchet and Clank series, are hard at work on a futuristic shooter for the PS3. Resistance: Fall of Man is set in - you guessed it - the kind of bleak post-apocalyptic world so beloved of teenage male consumers, and one where aliens have invaded Earth. It seems London is the last bastion of human existence, and you must fight the aliens off on the edges of the city in order to survive. And we're sure there'll be some way the humans can triumph and send the aliens packing for a happy ending (with this many cliches we doubt there'll be many surprises plot wise...).

Another game expected in the 'Launch window', watch this space for a lot more on Resistance: Fall of Man in the next few days, and check out the Media Panel for the first five high resolution shots.

For a live experice these screens look so last generation.

Very few if any effects, just a couple of half decent particle effects and lighting of a level that has been seen in so many games on xbox and PC, mostly low res textures.

Most of the art is very good though with an OK amount of detail in the models. COD2 on 360 puts this to shame, at it wasn't that great.
