Moore dismisses PS3 as 'too expensive'

PS3 News | Xbox marketing chief in more next-gen tit-for-tat.
Speaking to Japanese gaming rag Famitsu, Peter Moore, Microsoft corporate vice president and chief of worldwide Xbox marketing and one of Microsoft's leading public figures, has declared that Sony is 'pushing the games industry in the wrong direction,' before confidently predicting that 'the PS3's price won't be affordable to normal households.' This is despite the fact that, er, noone actually knows the price of the PS3 just yet.

Still, we can appreciate what Moore is getting at, especially with Ken Kutaragi discussing recently about how Sony are planning to launch their next home console at a premium price, an announcement that has certainly got our collective wallets into a state of worry.

Once he'd finished slinging mud in the direction of Sony, Moore also went on to tell Famitsu that he was thoroughly confident about Xbox 360's chances of commerical success in Japan this time around, and made a special effort to highlight Microsoft's good relationships with Japanese publishers over the past few years.

More childish but faintly amusing bickering between highly paid executives as it happens.
