Metal Gear: Rising trailer leaked, directed by Platinum Games

Man this is one thing I don't understand, a lot of MGS fans have been slagging off Bayonetta for being cheesy, which fair call that game is ridiculously cheesy.

But how are you guys MGS fans without loving the cheese? Those games are cheesy as hell. They are like rolled in a bath of melted cheese and then drizzled with cheese sauce cheesy.

There's a character in the game who is covered in bees, who you fight while he shoots bees at you. Another character fights off his attack of bees by spinning his guns around really fast.

There is nothing about that series of events that isn't cheesy as hell.

There's a minute and a half long cutscene of nothing but ocelott spinning his guns really fancy for gods sake.

See that's fine, when I say MGS is cheesy as hell that's not a bad thing. (The over drawn long winded pesudo intelectuall bullshit on the other hand...) good cheese is just as good as any drama.

But seriously, metal gear solid is about a bunch of genetically engineered super soliders trying to steal a giant robot that shoots nuclear bombs. If this was a movie it would be a direct to DVD b grade action flick.

The dialogue is cheesy as hell, the action scenes are typical over the top ludicrousness, even the emotional death scenes are these over blown melodramatic cheese fests.

Hell I'd actually argue that Bayonetta goes so far past the line of ridiculousness it stops being cheesy and starts just being insane (You turn into a giant hair monster that punches god into the sun for fucks sake) but MGS man, MGS is like 95% solid cheese.

Also I've gotta wonder about the comments knocking bayonetta for it's overt sexulisation, seriously did you guys play the same metal gear solid as me? Where the fact that you're fighting in the freezing snow isn't enough to convince sniper wolf to do up her damm jump suit?

What? No? I explicitly said that cheesy is not bad? I used italics and everything. I like cheesy, I fucking love it. I own Big Tits zombies in 3d on DVD, I fucking thrive on it.

Seriously I haven't meant anything I've written on this page other then the sentence about it being try hard intellectualism as a criticisim.

Also if you think anything about metal gear solid is subtle, you and me have a very different definition of the word.

If you must know, my dislike for Metal Gear Solid stems entirley from playing a game for 3 hours and having to watch over 4 hours of cutscenes for it. Including a 45 minute long cutscene on the history nuclear disarmament. That shit is just fucking unnecessary

And Gamesta, again I'm not saying any of that is bad. Cheesy can be emotional, hell watch the begining of Up, that shit is cheesy and emotionaly manipulative as hell and I cried like a fucking bitch.
The clevage for Sniper Wolf is entirely appropriate in the game since the game is clearly not giving a shit about logic and just playing up the cheesy action movie cliches.

It just seems weird that so many MGS fans are coming out and saying that they can't stand the over sexualisation and cheesyness of something like Bayonetta when MGS is fucking full of it.

oh wait you were being serious? I seriously thought the bit about it being character development was a joke?

How can it be character development if any part that it's supposed to be developing was already established 2 games ago? What's the development, that ocelot is a show off and can spin guns really well? That isn't a development that's an established character trait by the point the cut scene plays in 3.

Again it has a purpose, that doesn't mean it's not cheesy as hell.
