Gran Turismo 5 DLC finally arrives

PS3 News | We can safely say by this point that this DLC wasn't hidden on the disc.
Gran Turismo 5 fans who have stuck with the PS3 racing simulator rather than eloping with its 360 rival Forza Motorsport 4 have had their devotion rewarded, with a suite of updates for the game that are now available.

The first is a free Functionality Update 2.0, which is now available in-game, that significantly improves a range of Gran Turismo 5's features, not the least of which adding in-car cockpit views for the 800 or so standard cars in the game.

In addition to this, a suite of DLC packs are now available on the PSN store for GT5 including the following:

  • Racing Car Pack - AU $12.95 - includes 11 new cars from Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota and Dodge, as well as three new bespoke karts.
  • Course Pack - AU $6.95 - includes Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, as well as a new indoor karting arena with two layouts.
  • Special Paint Pack - AU $3.45 - includes 100 new matte, chrome and polarised colours.
  • Racing Gear Pack - AU $3.45 - includes 25 new Gran Turismo design helmets and 15 new race suits, as well as new Simpson helmets and Alpinestars GP1 race suits.

A complete bundle of these packs is also available for AU $18.95, or AU $14.45 if you're a PlayStation Plus member.
