Noice! Will most likely be getting this as well. It'll be cool to see how well these games hold up after playing Bayonetta.

Onimusha collection next?

Devil May Cry 2 had a cool soundtrack at least :P

but yea it was a massive letdown.

3 is an amazing game, easily the pinnacle of the franchise but I personally prefer the first game.

4 was pretty disappointing too, but not nearly as bad as 2.

and the reboot does not exist to me.

also I gotta say 2 had my fave design for Dante, and the new chick was pretty cool.

just... what the fuck was going on in that game?

4 would have been great if it hadn't been half a game that you play through twice.

Agree about the design, shame we didnt get to see more of older Dante :(

now we got emo punk rock Dante -_-

added some screens. There are some repeats, one is HD version and the other is standard.

i hated dantes design in 2 , i loved one as it was more or less a break in the 4th wall to the divine comedy in terms of art work , tried playing DMC 1 in standerd def a few years back , couldnt play it im fine with playing ulgy PS1 games but what ever it was the game hasnt aged well ....

Here's a fun fact: The design for Dante in DMC2 was designed by Kazumo Kaneko. You know, the same guy who designed all those Demons in Shin Megami Tensei... just putting it out there. icon_wink.gif

Good luck to those Achievement fans out there.

You're going to bloody need it.

I thought it was just his Devil Trigger. It's also why Dante appears in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call (outside of Japan at least).

It's not a reboot, it's an origin story. icon_razz.gif

No, Devil May Cry 3 was supposed to be the origin story. A younger, cooler and non-emo Dante.

I refuse to consider DmC as part of the timeline!

The video game industry is turning into the movie industry.

Remakes, rereleases and sequels.

It's all going to shit.

The first game was excellent but I stopped playing after trying 2. Might get it just wait and see.

I agree about the sea of sequels, but as far as re-releases go, I personally have no problem with it to be honest. It enables a whole new generation of gamers to play classic games, while offering developers a cheap way to fund their new games.

Look at it this way. Classic films are remastered and re-released every few years. Games are only really starting to do this, and the potential for improvement over the original is far higher with video games than for film.

I also highly doubt that this trend will continue into the next generation of consoles though. I mean, when the PS4 and XBOX 720 eventually land, I highly doubt we will see remastered versions of PS3/360 games. There would be no point, the graphical leap won't be there.

I'm in favour of compilations, having several classic games on one disc (remastered) or even have them individually released as digital titles for less than $10 a pop. It sure beats paying the insane prices for the original releases at Ebay.
