House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut gets approved

PS3 News | Sweet, gory victory.
We reported a few weeks ago that House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut was refused classification in Australia, despite being an updated version of the Wii game we've seen in every retail game store for miles around. Last we heard, Sega were going to appeal the decision.

It's good news then, that their appeal has been successful. The Classification Review Board has given the game an MA15+ rating, with the consumer advice of "strong horror violence, strong coarse language." No content has been cut or censored.

Darren Macbeth, Managing Director of SEGA Australia, is pleased with the news, saying; “It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal. We are proud to confirm that the game will be released in Australia in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed in any way. We were confident of successfully appealing the Board’s original decision to refuse classification and appreciate that the Classification Review Board has made a decision that complies with the current guidelines and framework."

House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut will be released on the 27th of October for PlayStation 3. Just in time for Halloween, then.

Awesome, I might try and find a couple of cheap Move controllers just for this.

Good news but part of me finds it redundant because of the Classification Board's lack of brains.

It should have never been banned in the first place.
