Max Payne 3 listed for December

PS3 News | Make it happen, pretty please.
Another Rockstar title has made the news today, next up is Max Payne 3. Oh Max, poor old greasy Max. Life has been tough for the man, but a release date for his latest outing has appeared on two websites - GameStop and Amazon.

The inquisitive eyes of VG24/7 spotted the listing. Generally, those dates are guidelines and have very little support to back them up. However, not this time. Amazon said the date was "changed by the publisher", so maybe...just maybe, Take-Two Interactive is planning a double announcement with this and Grand Theft Auto V. Call us crazy, because we probably are, but we're also optimistic.

Max Payne 3 has been hanging around for several years; will he return in 2011, or will he get lost in the gutters again? Feel free to discuss everything noir and everything slow-mo in the comments.

I never really enjoyed the story in Max Payne. I know it was a really good story, well told and all that but it was never about the story for me with Max Payne. It was all about the gameplay, specifically the bullet-time stuff that had me coming back for more.. I didn't play Max Payne 2.. and so I honestly wonder if I will find the 3rd worth playing at all.

^ Max Payne's story was supposed to be somewhat ironic and overblown... If you go into it that way its a lot more enjoyable. Also Max Payne 2 was much better than Max Payne 1 icon_smile.gif You should play it.

Max Payne 3 doesn't look like a Max Payne game.

I thought that too, until I saw:

I'll probably end up playing it until the point where Max becomes Bruce Willis before switching off my Xbox and crying bitter tears.

Max Payne 2 was basically Max Payne 1 with physics and without the god awful dream sequences. Therefore it was an exceptional game and infinitely better than the first (which was already amazing).

I have pretty big reservations towards this one, everyone knows my general dislike for all things Rockstar so it's already off to a bad start, fat Max doesn't help either.

Max Payne, more like Max Donuts, amirite?

So basically it's a flash back and then the screen fades to black, then there is a pan out from Max Paynes eye with some kind of narrative, and he is sitting on the couch stuffing his fat face.

"And in the darkness of my cold room, I sat there...alone. Cheezos in left hand, and the pains of my past in the right, shaped in the form of a bottle of gin."

MAX PAYNE 3.
