After reading they are trying to cater to a more "mainstream" audience, I kind of lost a bit of interest in this. Hopefully they show some gameplay soon, and it stays true to the previous games and can't be finished easily by running through killing everyone :\
I love how people are judging the gameplay on a trailer with no gameplay.
What do you expect? It shows signs towards the gameplay thats what trailers are meant to do surely, give you an impression of a game's style.
I'm still trying to reserve judgement but everything i've seen and heard so far is telling me this series is going the exact way the Splinter Cell series went with the last game. Too focused on style over substance and not very fun or suspenseful anymore. That's just my impression the trailer gives me and this space is for discussing that. From the trailer it looks like the scene could have been taken straight out of a "The Transporter" movie or something.
But I'm still going to wait to see some actual gameplay, of course.
It showed 47 using objects in the environment like never before, it looks to be more brutal than ever before, but he also didn't fire a shot. That tells me that this is still going in right direction.
I'm trying to convince myself that Absolution will be a great game. If it's a mainstream cash in like Splinter Cell then my gaming career will be over. I'll retire, and you can hold me to that.

You know chances are the trailer isn't even made by the same people making the game, it's probbably been outsourced to a third party company that specilises in making pre-rendered stuff and supplied with some game models or something.
Some pre-rendered trailers give an indication of gameplay, most don't though.
Good point Benza, but surely they would give a company a certain "script" to adhere to I would think???
I just hope it has big open levels again, and lots of different options, and I can still complete a level without killing anyone but my target. As long as I can do all those things thats all I ask for and the rest is just fluff. :]

Ahh, see I'm going for the complete opposite, assume the worst and be floored when it isn't.
