Shadow of the Colossus and ICO HD Confirmed?

PS3 Rumour | Have our dreams been answered?
A listing for a Shadow of the Colossus/ICO collection on the PlayStation 3 has suddenly appeared on Walmart's online store. It carries a price tag of US$38.82 and is apparantly available for preorder.

The listing supports a long running rumour that the game would be released in Q1 2011, with a supposed release date of January 4, 2011. If this is the case, the collection would hit store shelves just in time to promote designer Fumito Ueda's upcoming entry into the series, The Last Guardian, which is also due early next year.

However, this mysterious listing isn't confirmation that the HD Shadow of the Colossus/ICO collection exists, but it definitely makes it more likely. We will keep you informed of any new revelations in the next few days.

Props to forum member THEMAN for the heads up.

Awesome news if true - two great games that really deserve the HD treatment. Though it would significantly depreciate the value of my PS2 copies..

To early to get my hopes up just yet... but the fact that it is Walmart is promising.

I really hope they do this with Final Fantasy, the Metal Gear series and Jak & Ratchet as well!

A HD re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 would be fantastic and it would definitely sell well. It would be even better if they could add in The Twin Snakes, but Nintendo probably have some of the rights to the game and wouldn't let it happen.

Honestly 2 is solid (no pun intended) even now (it was CLEAN in the PS2 days) and MGS 3 is 3DS bound.

2 was quite fogettable anyway and had bizzard story. It's like 4 but worse.

Persoanlly I'd like to see the likes of the Jak and Daxter series get HD'ed over MGS.

I completely forgot that MGS3 was coming to the 3DS icon_confused.gif A PS3 collection won't happen then, they wouldn't want it to affect the sales of the 3DS version.

As for Jack and Daxter, I remember I played a little bit of the first one, but never really invested much time in it. If it was to get the HD treatment, I'd definitely give the series another shot.

^Leon, indeed. The only way I could endorse an MGS re-release collection is if they also added in a lot more gameplay (or made many of the cutscene sequences playable).

But, after seeing The Twin Snakes, they'd probably add in even more cutscenes.

From what I heard 3 isn't comming to the 3DS the stuff they showed was only a tech demo adn it's an entirley new MGS project for it.

^ That's both annoying and exciting. Tell them to do both please. For 3 is the best MGS game and I'd love to have a new MGS game in 3D.

Jak 1 and 2 were completely awesome games and really underrated. Jak 1 for it's time was ground breaking graphics and an awesome adventure. 3 started to go a bit pear shaped though.
