Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One announced

PS3 News | And one 4 All?
Developer Insomniac stole the show at Sony's Gamescom press event, revealing a new entry in the fan favourite Ratchet and Clank franchise titled Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One.

Designed from the ground up as a cooperative experience, All 4 One throws in characters Captain Qwark and Dr. Nefarious, supporting drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for up to four people. Giving each other a helping hand, players will explore the world of Ratchet and Clank, combing abilities and skills to battle new and familiar enemies.

No release date is attached to the project as of yet, but fans looking for an early peek can check out the trailer below, as well as the PlayStation Blog for screenshots.

Same...When I first saw the title on IGN, I thought..Cool, its the PS2 games Collection, as there is the 4 Insominiac ones.

I'd rather that I think. I'm not really digging the whole co-op thing, it looks cluttered. However its good to see they are trying something new with the series (its kinda needed) and the inclusion of online is a nice idea. Be interesting to see how it turns out.

AS a huge fan of the ratchet and clank series, I couldn't help but sigh when I read Cooperative... I really hope It is good single player, unlike the recent Castlevanis which I was hugely looking forward to but all the review say don't bother for single-player.

The series has always had cooperative elements (the two main characters regularly work together, and those time manipulation puzzles with Crank in the last game were basically recorded coop), so extrapolating those elements out to four unique people shouldn't be a disaster.

There'd better be a good plot reason for Nefarious as a playable cooperative character though.

Would you rather old games remastered over a new game? I'm delighted to see a R&C game with co-op. As much as I would like to see the PS2 games remastered (even though I own all of them already - except the PSP ports) I would much rather have a new game.
