Medal of Honor: Limited Edition announced

PS3 News | It's the honorable thing to do.
For those anticipating the release of the new entry into the Medal of Honor series, there is now even more reason to take to the battlefield once more.

EA Games has announced a limited edition of Medal of Honor, with a variety of bonuses for those who purchase it. Players who take up the offer will gain exclusive access to an MP7 which, according to executive producer Greg Goodrich is capable of piercing armour and "handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle."

In addition to this, purchasers of the limited edition will gain immediate access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns, which will otherwise have to be earned by attaining a high rank.

You can snap up the limited edition and join the fight once more on 14 October, when Medal of Honor is released in Australia.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....I'd hardly call that a Limited Edition, its just some downloadable weapons. Surely they can come up with something better than that.

DICE seem to enjoy doing "Limited Editions" which are essentially the first print of the game that gives some in-game bonuses to people who bought it at launch.

Kinda makes you wish they found a different phrase to label the game >_>

So, the only unique weapon there sounds, essentially, like a cheat...

Bravo.

the mp7 pretty much does that in real life though

It’s amazing how willing developers and publishers are to hinge a game's balance on whether or not people pre-order or buy a particular version.

yes this is true, i haven't found a game that offers something like this yet that i would call balanced....really all weapons in a game like this should be available to everyone by slogging away at it. Having said that though, what do the companies care if they get the extra 5$....we could complain all day long and these issues probably don't register to them anymore.....we want balance, yeah but we want 5$, i know who usually wins that battle

If only all developers were like Valve and updated their games with a seemingly bottomless barrel of free hats.

It's getting easy to tell the guys that actually play games, versus the guys that want less fun in them....

I was pretty much going to say the same thing that many other have in this thread; there is nothing limited about this release, just some stuff that should be in the 'regular' release of the game. BS.

Exaclty and I bet they do the same crap with COD: Black Ops.

IMO, Valve's patches with TF2 are the best I've ever seen in a game. New maps, new game modes, new items and all free.

On topic, what's the point getting limited edition when everyone else will be using the same weapons after a few days to a week? The MP7 hardly seems worth it.

Woopy Doo. All we get is DownLoadable Crap, gee I'm super excited icon_zzz.gif Oh wait, it wouldn't even be DLC, that's even worse.

Medal of Honor: You can be a cheap player straight away edition.

Or maybe Medal of Honor: Get an edge on the competition right away edition.

How about Medal of Honor: Instead of earning an adavantage, get it free edition.
The limited edition doesn't cost extra. It's the same price as the normal edition. It's just an incentive to buy the game early, presumably to combat used game purchases, but also to reward those those support game companies by buying games on release. Also, the PS3 version comes with the updated Frontline game.

This method is FAR better than those **** exclusive pre-order bonuses that EB Games and other retailers do. This means that I can buy the game from any retailer and get the content (assuming the limited edition isn't exclusive).

Yeah, the actual bonuses are pretty crappy, but it's like the Dragon Age extras.

guys this makes no sense , you guys recall the 2 le/CEs that where anounced for deadspace and this at e3 right ? the tier 1 is what iv got preorded which comes with a remasterd copy of front lines or rising sun ( probbly a download ) dead space comes with a remastered copy of extraction - retail copy as far as i konw .
