Demon's Souls finally gets a PAL release

PS3 News | But has your soul already been consumed?
Another victim of the thankfully recently-less-prevalent PAL release curse, Namco Bandai has announced that last year's innovative RPG (and masochist's wet dream), Demon's Souls will finally see a PAL release. This comes after the February and October 2009 releases in Japan and the USA respectively. For those who haven't already imported, you've now got an upcoming chance to see just what all the fuss is about, and the lack of rainbows and sunshine in the world of Boletaria.

25 June 2010 is the magical date for all PAL territories, including Australia and NZ. Those who haven't experienced it yet will finally get to see the possibilities of integrating online capabilities into a predominantly single player game. That, and you'll learn very quickly just what it means for a game to be 'hard'.

“We’re very pleased to be working with SCEI to bring the fantastic Demon’s Souls to gamers outside of Japan and North America,” said Olivier Comte, VP Marketing, Sales & Publishing Namco Bandai Partners, “The game is exactly the kind of quality experience with which we are continuing to grow the Namco Bandai Games portfolio of titles, and we will be working hard to ensure it’s at least as much of a success in our markets as it has already proven to be elsewhere.”

Currently, it's unknown whether PAL territories will use seperate servers or the same as players in the USA. However, with a distinct lack of communication about whether the game would ever be released here, most interested parties are likely to have imported by now. We were amongst them, and even though we've yet to recover from the trip into Demon's Souls, its unique and outstanding features certainly left an impression. Hopefully, a positive response will prevent such delays and miscommunications in the future.

Sony recently said it made a mistake passing on this game didn't they? They'll probably jump at the chance for a sequel.

Awesome, awesome game by the way! Finished it twice!

Awesome news for Pal gamers. **** news for me as I ordered the game off PA literally the day before. At least the servers will be full soon!

I already have the US version, but I'd actually be tempted to buy it again if there are Aussie servers.

Sweet, I'll finally get the chance to try it, at least. Sounded good but the difficulty kind of put me off importing it. At least here if it gets too frustrating I can just return it.

Having completed the game twice over, I still want to play it more. Just got too many other things sitting on the shelf unfinished.
