GT Academy rides again

PS3 News | For Australia and New Zealand this time, too.
Sony have announced today that they are joining forces with Nissan Europe to launch GT Academy 2010, an international competition that spans all of Europe, and is now open to Australia and New Zealand. The competition ran last year, where Spanish student Lucas OrdoƱez kicked on from his victory in the competition to become a full-on racing driver.

This year, the prize is an intensive race training programme and a season-long drive in a full race-spec Nissan 370Z in the European GT4 Cup. On December 17, Sony will release an online time-trial version of the upcoming Gran Turismo 5, which anyone can download on the PlayStation Network and play on PS3. A copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is not required.

The holders of the twenty fastest lap times from each country will qualify for a national final, where twenty national finalists will be chosen to advance to the next stage - a 'boot camp' at the Silverstone circuit where they will be judged on fitness and mental attitude. Of these finalists, two will be chosen for an intesive driving and racing programme, and the candidate with the most potential will win the grand prize.

You can check out more information about the promotion here and over here.
