Uncharted 2 getting free DLC this week

PS3 News | New multiplayer map on offer
Uncharted 2 developer Naughty Dog has revealed that the PlayStation 3 exclusive title will be getting a free update later in the week in the form of a new multiplayer map.

The new arena map, 'The Fort' is based upon the 'Fortress' chapter in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and it will be playable within both the the competitive and co-op arena playlists.

Also available in this first batch of downloadable content will be the addition of global real-time leaderboards and player cards. Player cards will let gamers show off a variety of statistics such as: kills, wins, money and number of co-op games completed.

This DLC is scheduled to go live this weekend and will also be accompanied by a double cash weekend in celebration of the American holiday of Thanksgiving. For those of us outside of America, we'll just give thanks for the bonus cash on offer... not to mention the fattened up player skins.

I guess this is a game patch rather than something from the store for free?
