BlazBlue updates

PS3 News | PAL release, PSP port and a sequel. All in 2010.
The newest 2D fighting game game from Arc System Works, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, was released everywhere in the world apart from PAL territories back in June 2009. The debut of this series seems to have gone really well and already the developers are working on new BlazBlue projects.

We happen to have come across some handy series updates. First off, the PAL release of BlazBlue will indeed happen in the first quarter of 2010. There will also be a PSP port of the game, which will also be released in the first quarter of 2010. So far though, the PSP game only has a Japanese release scheduled.

Finally, there will be a sequel coming out in 2010 titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and it will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will feature three new characters: Tsubaki Yayoi, Hazama and a new final boss named ‘Lambda 11’. The game will also include new moves, revisions, improved balancing and new art work.

Look forward to PALGN’s full review of BlazBlue when the game finally arrives on our shores next year.

Finally, I can get the 360 version and play it properly (with a stick). Hopefully we'll get a some sort of collectors edition as well.

Does this mean Continuum Shift will also be released in PAL? Or will we have to wait a stupid amount of time for that too?

Great, we're finally getting it, but not with the rumoured extra characters. Wonder if I can hold out for the Continuum Shift later in 2010?

I was under the impression we were only getting Continuum Shift in PAL land. So I don't think we're getting the original.

Also, it's not really a sequel of sorts. More of a increment.

yeah i remember reading an annoucement by them saying that we would be getting blazblue with extra characters to make up for the lack of pal release. so its kind of pointless to release the original version when they're going to release an updated version.

That's not how the article reads though, it treats them as two very separate subjects. Or maybe it's just Jahanzeb's take on it?

Awesome. Been looking forward to this game. 2010 can not come any sooner.

why not just import the asian version if u have a ps3?

Article is correct. PAL is getting BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger in Q1 2010 with extra content that will likely be provided as DLC for asia/US versions.

Then later in the year everyone gets BlazBlue: Continuum Shift which is a proper sequel.

Ah well, in that case I'll be skipping the PAL release and wait for the PAL sequel to come out.

Why do I feel ripped off about BlazBlue coming to PAL shores so late? I find it irritating that companies are still sticking to this "global" delay plan. Localization from one language to another I can understand, but after that, there should be no excuse.

I guess thats all part of lacking a PS3 to some respects. :/
