Band Hero track list revealed

Sick of music games? Too bad, because yet another is on the horizon with the family-friendly Band Hero. The 65-song track listing has been announced, and as expected it's chock full of mainstream pop that will hold a bit more appeal to the young'uns than the grisly rock flavours of its Guitar Hero cousins, especially if you like Taylor Swift, who has three songs in the game. It's got a couple of old classics too with tracks like Devo's Whip It and Don McLean's American Pie. You can check out the full list below.

Those who like a bit of cross-compatibility in their music titles will be pleased to know that Band Hero features a quite fully fledged transfer option, with 61 of the 65 featured tracks able to be transferred to Guitar Hero 5 for a small fee. If you want to go the other way around, 69 of the 85 on-disc Guitar Hero 5 songs can be transferred into Band Hero, as well as select tracks from Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. If you can keep track of all that, you're our hero.

Sounds like a good game to me. I can get this and transfer it all to GH5 so the ladies in the house can stop complaining that there aren't enough songs for them. Then I will just slip in some APC and Rammstein in the playlist to make sure the boys still get some airtime.

The song list there doesn't seem to be for the hardcore who want to break their fingers.

More like, it's aimed at that rather large group of friends of mine that aren't any good at the game and always play on easy or normal.

Band Hero is pretty much the "Accessible" game (like Lego Rock Band, really), with current popular songs.

It's pretty much the exact opposite to Guitar Hero Metallica/Van Halen in terms of what the songlist was targeting.

That being said, I'm not getting is, as the only song that isn't in Rock Band I liked is Paralyser and that's in the Demo. Which I have.

Hinder makes the whole setlist horrible.

Even the good stuff, like Marvin Gaye, Bowie and Roy Orbison are now horrible simply by being on the same list as Hinder.

Aside from Guitar Hero / Guitar Hero 2, i don't think i've been COMPLETELY satisfied with a setlist since

although Rock Band was great as it had plenty to pick from both on disc and DLC.

I'll be getting the game, may not play it that often (tend to not play these games after awhile).... but something to have in the game collection to pull out and play when i feel like it, will be good.

are the instruments any better quality? i was gonna get world tour but with this coming out i may get this then just buy copies of world tour/metallica off ebay

Yeah that's what I was planning on doing because I've heard that the instruments are better designed when it comes to assembling and quality. Apparently the guitar controller gets digital tracking for its touch pad now too, which is an idea that pleases me because its often more reliable.

This place here lists the improvements, and maybe PALGN does somewhere too. Fingers crossed its accurate

Heads up on the instruments, by the looks of it, all consoles get the GH5 Guitar (Red/White one), however the redesigned drums will be a timed exclusive on Wii for literally no reason, leaving the old GHWT drums for PS3/360. Sucks.

A very mixed list- there are some good songs there, but for every good song, there is another song (or three) that makes me shudder- looking at you, Hinder. I don't think I'd be able to play through this list with The SPice girls, Hinder and Evanescence on there, as much as I'd like to play Might Mighty Bostones, American Pie and Everclear. Think I'll give this a wide berth.

Also, that first song, the band should be "3 doors down". You're missing the 3.

A few good songs, maybe 4 or 5, that I wouldn't mind having. But oh well, I can live without them and there is enough good RB DLC to make up for it.

there is a reason it's called Mainstream music, because more people like it, that's why its main!! and stream because.. well I don't know how streams got involved exactly

But I'm sure lots of people will buy this and support it.
