Bayonetta delayed

PS3 News | Put your heels away for now.

Those looking forward to getting their hands on the over-the-top, high-heeled action of Platinum Games' Bayonetta will have to wait a little bit longer with SEGA announcing that the game has been delayed until next year.

Lucky Japanese gamers will still be able to get their hands on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title in 2009, but the rest of the world will have to patiently wait until January 2010 to load Bayonetta up on their consoles.

Sega West President Mike Hayes explained the move, stating:

"Bayonetta is an extremely important new IP for SEGA and adds a new level of depth to our growing portfolio. As a result of market analysis we have taken a publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximize this exciting new title's potential."

Oh wow, we have to wait a whole month into the new year. If only there were dozens of other highly-anticipated games releasing for Christmas.......oh wait.
