The King of Fighters XII delayed

PS3 News | Still coming out in July.

It was reported over the weekend that the much anticipated worldwide release of The King of Fighters XII has been delayed.

The game was originally planned for a worldwide release on 16 July 2009. SNK Playmore has decided to delay the release in order to further polish the game.

The game however will still be released within July but at much a later date, which has not yet been specified.

So annoyed at this but at least it sounds like Aus will get it around the same point of time. I mean, there is no date for Blazblue here.

There's been quite a few fighting games recently and more coming. Been personally waiting for this for a while, despite a very predictable roster with lots of my favorites missing, but will still adore it. especially it's HD art.

I hope it doesn't get delayed again, but won't mind if it meant more "polish" into the game. I mean we just got Battle Fantasia and BlazBlue is still up in the air.

I'm assuming this doesn't affect the Australian release date.

Australia's release date is for the 28th of August (heavily promoted at recent Supanova conventions).

I had a chance to play both the XB360 and PS3 version both looked identical but the PS3 had noticable longer load times. The guy I talked to said they were both beta builds and the PS3 load times will be addressed when it goes to retail.

I will admit that playing the 2D on the XB360 controller was comparatively more difficult than the PS3 controller, but I'm assuming most people will probably play this with an arcade stick.

I really cant wait for this game. The graphics are lovely. and anime style too just like street fighter 4 should have been. But still sf4 is good.

BlazBlue just came out. SNK probably wants a little cool down time before releasing their big fighting game. SNK is probably thinking sales for KOFXII will be much higher a few weeks after BlazBlue's release rather than a week after.

I'm not sure on the US release date, all I know is that Australia's official release date is the 28th of August and Japan's official release date is 30th Of July.

Since I'll be in Japan when it launchs I'll probably grab myself a copy of the PS3 Japanese release.

The Australian release date I got from the Supanova (the company was both present at Sydney Supanva and Perth Supanova), if you google it, a few places also confirm this.

Original release date was slated for 7/7/09, but its been pushed back to 7/20/09. This is rather normal when it comes KOF games. KOFXI was pushed back several times and KOF98 UM experienced delays as well; Heck, even Samurai Shodown Anthology had its share of delays. People just have to expect delays for SNK fighters.

Last I heard, the guy at the Supanova booth told me the XB360 will be region locked.

Going by the Ignition forums it's also heavily hinted that way too.

There's always the PS3 region free version or just simply wait till the Australian release dates comes around.
