No guitar control for Brutal Legend

PS3 News | Put down the axe, slowly.
The creator of Brutal Legend has told MTV Multiplayer that there won't be any guitar controller compatibility for the upcoming title.

Tim Schafer is quoted as saying “I was trying to figure out how you would throw down the controller and pick up the guitar.” He concluded however that there were no future plans for guitar controller compatibility with either the Guitar Hero or Rock Band peripherals.

If you happen to be upset by this news, perhaps you can console yourself by checking out some screens here and here.

I didn't even know guitar control was planned for Brutal Legend. Seems like a cool idea but I can see the difficulties with actually implementing it. Would completely disrupt the flow of gameplay.

I'm not surprised, the devs can't just assume everyone that's gonna play their game has a guitar. They'd be limiting their player base if they did put it in. Unless of course it was optional...
