Rock Band DLC set to kick you in the shins

PS3 News | You'll wake the demon with this noise.
Rock Band's latest crop of DLC will see nine new tracks hit the Rock Band catalogue this week.

Six of the new tracks will be coming from country rocker Toby Keith, but if country isn't really your bag maybe the metal madness of the hard rocking bands Black Tide and Bullet For My Valentine will be more up to your speed. For those that like their music a little more mellow, Harmonix has also included indie darlings The Shins to round out the diverse range of new music coming to Rock Band next week:

  • Black Tide - Warriors of Time
  • Bullet For My Valentine - Waking the Demon
  • The Shins - New Slang

Toby Keith Track Pack
  • How Do You Like Me Now
  • Beer for My Horses
  • I Love This Bar
  • She's a Hottie
  • Should've Been a Cowboy
  • Who's Your Daddy?

These tracks are set to hit Xbox 360 on Tuesday April 7, and PlayStation 3 on Thursday April 9 with a pricetag of 160 MS Points (approx. AUD $2.80) a pop. The Toby Keith track pack will be yours for 800 MS Points (approx. AUD $14).

Everything that Guitar Hero has now, but better, really.

Fanboyism aside, the only thing GH:WT/Metallica has against Rock Band is the tapping notes and Juggernaut Advertising/Brand Name Recognition.

I agree. I played Guitar Hero and didn't have any fun playing it. The only thing I like in GH is you can choose multiple songs to play in a row (in RB2 I am pretty sure), and that there are local score boards.

The Shins hitting Rockband DLC is a massive 'Hell Yes' - just wish they did a pack rather than a single. Still, New Slang is brilliant so who am I to complain?
