This week's PlayStation Store update

PS3 News | Ever Wanted to Watchmen Wrestle in Persia?
Rorschach's Journal. Friday the 6th of March, 2009. Raining out. Prefer warmth. Fire is best. PlayStation Store filthy with new updates. Demos. Videos. Add-on packs. Highlights include release of Wanted: Weapons of Fate demo and Prince of Persia: Epilogue add-on pack. Also game called Watchmen: The End is Nigh. Did not know about this one. Saw my face in the poster on main page. Think my lawyer may be getting a call.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh is a downloadable game based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, as well as the newly released film. You and a friend can take control of crime-fighters Rorschach and Nite Owl II in a familiar street brawler, with each character having their own special combat skills and moves. You can download the free 1.2GB trial if you want to get a taste of the game, and then download an unlocking add-on to play the whole game. It'll set you back AUD $23.95.

Prince of Persia: Epilogue also finally saw its release, and follows the Prince's adventures after the controversial ending of 2008's Prince of Persia. It's going for AUD $15.95.

There are also a couple of demos up for Wanted: Weapons of Fate, and WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania. They're 815 MB and 1003 MB respectively.

Burnout Paradise also had a major update with a swathe of toy cars added to the PlayStation Store. These cars include the Toy Carson GT Concept, Inferno Van, Cavalry, Citizen, Manhattan, Takedown 4x4, Jansen P12, Krieger WTR and Nakamura Firehawk. They're up for AUD $3.45 each, and AUD $4.95 for the Firehawk bike. You can also choose from two packs of 4 toy cars for AUD $8.45, and a pack including all of the cars for AUD $15.95.

In terms of add-ons, there's also a Street Fighter 4 'Femme Fatale' costume pack for AUD $6.95, a Lumines Supernova classics pack for AUD $6.95 which includes 20 skins from the originalLumines, a free 'Throwback Pack' for Skate 2, two new characters for High Veolcity Bowling (Carmen and Bruce) for AUD $1.75 each, and finally a new free Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Storm Pack, with three additional 'versus' events featuring giant characters (Gamabunta, Shukaku and Manda) and one additional support character, Sakon.

Rock Band sees a host of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble songs, including 'Dirty Pool', 'I'm Cryin'', 'Lenny', 'Love Struck Baby', 'Mary had a Little Lamb', 'Pride and Joy', 'Rude Mood' and 'Tell Me a Texas Flood' all for AUD $2.45 each, with a game pack including all of them for AUD $17.95. There is also a song called 'New' from No Doubt up for AUD $2.45.

As for Guitar Hero World Tour there are a bunch of European songs in the form of 'Break it Out' by Vanilla Sky, 'C'est Comme Ca' by Rita Mitsuko and 'In the Shadows' by The Rasmus. They're each AYD $3.45 or you can buy a pack of them for AUD $9.25.

Finally, there are a couple of videos up today, including a trailer for the Metal Gear Online SCENE Expansion, a launch trailer for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, wallpaper for Crash Commando, and themes for Crash Commando and Loco Roco 2.

*sigh* even though the PSP store has been up for ages now Sony have still yet to place anything on there that even vaguely interests me... it's either boring rubbish or games at the RRP price of a physical game... keep trying sony :|

thanks for the update though ;D I live in hope icon_biggrin.gif

Why... why GRIN why... why ruin what was already a somewhat-mediocre-but-entirely-likeable film... I surely can't justify a purchase for the slow-mo bullet curving alone can I? Why did you have to RUIN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN SO GREAT?!

I need some time alone...
