This week's PlayStation Store update

PS3 News | So make like a tree, and get over there.
The Australian PlayStation Store was updated today with an unusually large bounty of offerings for those Sony-inclined gamers with a PS3 or PSP. Today's special blend consisted of full games, add-on packs and more, with highlights being Noby Noby Boy, Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and the flux-capaciting 'Jansen 88' car for Burnout Paradise.

Noby Noby Boy is the latest effort from Katamari Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi, and sees the titular 'Boy' stretching his way across the world so that 'Girl' can grow larger and larger until she grows across the solar system. There's a meaningful metaphor for marriage in that description, but we're not going to point it out. You can pick it up for AUD $6.95.

Next up is Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, whose title essentially sums up the whole game. It's a widescreen 1080p high definition remake of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, with redrawn art, remixed music and a new 'Rebalanced' mode which incorporates new moves into the characters' repetoire. It's available for the turbo price of AUD $23.95.

For Burnout Paradise owners, four new downloadable vehicles have been released. The Back to the Future inspired Jansen 88 Special leaves flaming trails in the skies for AUD $6.95, while the car that hurled alongside the Ghostbusters into fame, the Hunter Manhatten Spirit, is up for AUD $3.45. Another two cars, the Custom GT Nighthawk and Hunter Cavalry Bootlegger are up for AUD $3.45 each, and a pack including all of these cars can be purchased for AUD $12.95. Finally, there's the 'Time Savers' pack, which will unlock all of the cars in the game (except for the premium downloadable ones) for AUD $8.45.

However, there are plenty more add-on packs where they came from as Mirror's Edge gets a new 'Pure Time Trial' pack for AUD $12.95, featuring nine all-new tracks designed specifically for testing out your parkour skills. Skate 2 gets 'Drydek's Fantasy Plaza Pack' for AUD $6.95, while LittleBigPlanet brings us a WipEout character costume pack for AU$4.95. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is updated with the free 'Storm Pack 7', which includes 3 additional 'versus' events (Shino, Hinata and Shikamaru) as well as a new character, Tayuya.

On the band game front, Rock Band was updated with 'Black Sunshine' and 'More Human than Human' by White Zombie, as well as 'Pick up the Pieces', by Average White Band and 'Wasted Again' by Turbonegro at AUD $2.45 a pop. Guitar Hero World Tour finds itself with a new set of Wings songs, including 'Junior's Farm', 'Hi Hi Hi' and 'Jet'. You can buy them separately for AUD $3.45 or together for AU$9.25.

The PSP also receives a lot of love this week, with four full new games released exclusively for the handheld system, including World of Pool for AUD $15.95, Spectral vs. Generation for AUD $15.95, Stateshift for AUD $15.95 and International Athletics for AUD $23.95.

Finally, two new videos are up including a behind the scenes of Flower and an announcement for the Eidos game Mini Ninjas. There's also a host of PS3 themes including Flower, Loco Roco 2 Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom, Cuboid and Magic Ball.

That's a pretty awesome update. If I had the internet at my new house I'd be picking up Noby Noby boy and the Burnout special car pack.
I hate the idea of the time savers packs, paying for content you can unlock anyway??? What a load.

I would say the time saver pack is EAs contribution rather than Criterion.. they've been doing that for years with the NFS games.. Unlocking the cars is half the fun..

SSF2THD is great.. though I must admit, I only got it cause I can't afford SF4 for a while yet!
