Killzone 2 demo up on the PSN

PS3 News | You'd have to be zoned out to miss it.
Early this morning when most gamers should have been in bed, Sony released the Killzone 2 demo on the PlayStation Network. Coming in at 1.2GB, the demo lets players explore two areas of the first level and play through a tutorial.

With many of you likely reading this from your office or university/TAFE/high school computer lab, the question now is when you get home what will you download first – the strategy spin-off Halo Wars for the Xbox 360 or Killzone 2 for the PS3? Let us know in the comments section below.

Killzone 2 is scheduled to be released on the 26th of February at a suggested retail price of $109.95. Look out for our full review in the next few weeks.

I'll DL KZ2 because I wan't to pick up a few things from the renderer.

And then later if I'm bored I'll get HW so I can get a laugh out of what a shoddy game it's likely to be icon_razz.gif. I mean seriously making an RTS out of a very average FPS game series? And for a console of all things, this just reeks of fail.

Got the KZ2 demo down, damn it looks sweet. 3 weeks and counting until the release icon_smile.gif

Yes, this game is amazing. Best looking environments, effects and graphics and the controls are really realistic. I'm with John_Solids.

I'm so glad I got my PS3

I think M$ stuffed up the download. It WAS supposed to be for Gold subscribers only, but it appears in the early hours of being posted a few lucky silver members were able to download it. Seems to be in working order now, though.

Short demo is shooooort. Waste of my onpeak download... save it for the offpeak!

The unskippable movie that we've already seen on the internet a billion times at the end was just utterly obnoxious, too. Download probably would've been a lot smaller if that wasn't tacked on...

Downloaded the RE5 demo, i want this game absolutely. But im going to just wait for the release. Sounds like the demo is a little short.

it's short, but pretty intense. definitely shows the game off.

there wasn't really a question of me not getting this, it was pretty much on my day one purchase list since the day i got my PS3, but it was nice to have that choice reaffirmed.

i doubt the inclusion of the 2 videos would've increased the size too much, maybe 200-300MB. and i didn't mind anyway, since i hadn't downloaded them before anyway.

i've downloaded this the moment it was announced and i've easily played it 5 times over the course of it's release. the whole slap on the back buddy/bro routine when you kill someone was a bit annoying but i don't think i'll notice it too much while playing through the game since i've repeatedly gone through the demo you pick up the various lines they say.

I might kill him on the elevator and try to do the rest myself, using a knife is a favorite of mine just need to see if i can map it to another button instead of having to move my thumb to the d-pad while playing.

Wow that demo did not leave a good taste in my mouth. Getting thrown in the deep and like that with barely any description of the controls isn't good. I think I might like the game better after getting used to movement and firing though. It definitely looks quite nice.

^ I think its the start of the game from what i've seen, so expect to be "thrown in the deep end" again if you buy it icon_razz.gif

I guess I'd have longer to acclimatize to it at least.

I tried RE5 immediately after it and was horrified to discover the controls were even worse =\
