Midnight Club: Los Angeles DLC on the way

PS3 News | South Central gets an upgrade.
Rockstar's open-world racer Midnight Club: Los Angeles will gain two downloadable content packs early in the new year that will both expand the game world and add a slew of new rides and races to the mix.

The South Central Upgrade Map will be a free download which will add more open road to the game, including a number of popular landmarks such as Exposition Park, the University of Southern California campus, Shrine Auditorium, Crenshaw Plaza and the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

In addition to the South Central Upgrade Map, the premium South Central Content Pack will bring a host of new cars, SUVs and a motorcycle to the title, as well as new character competitions, races and game music.

So far no firm release date or price point has been identified for this DLC.

is this PS3 only (at the moment of asking, it's "PS3 News"), or both versions?

and free is always nice. icon_y1.gif

I guess we can all thank Critereon for this! Trendsetting for the greater good.

I should really be playing this more often. Now that most of my game backlog is cleared out I suppose I've got no excuse to hold off any longer.

I was just ranting about wanting to try this on IRC...

I was a huge fan of Midtown Madness 2 when I was younger, and would literally spend hours driving around exploring and performing stunts. I looked it up in Wiki and saw that Midtown Madness 3 was done by DICE, and not by the original developers of the series, Angel Studios, who have now become Rockstar San Diego, those Responsible for the Midnight Club games.

Having heard Midnight Club is an open world freeroaming driving game, I'm left intrigued and this DLC looks pretty nice in the screenshots too...

Never been a fan of the whole "hardcore street racer" market, as it was always unappealing to me, though freeroaming and from a developer that gave me a lot of enjoyment... hmm.

If you read it carefully, the extra map/area is free, but the "premium" pack is the one that includes extra cars, so I guess you will have to pay for that.

Still at least some of it is free which is good. I dont own all the original cars yet so probably wont fork out for new ones just yet.

Its an absolute gem for me

That's pretty good about the expanded content as it'll definitely extend the life of the game and depending on how much the bonus content is and what is included I might even pay for that as well

yeah i saw that they had mentioned 2 lots. when i saw that, i thought that it'll probably be like the Crackdown DLC - the free version is there so people can still play in Multiplayer with people who did want the extra cars, guns and missions.
